We are currently looking to hire a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Elk Park Animal Hospital in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.$2,000 Sign-On Bonus! Relocation Assistance Available!
- Salary: $25.00 - 28.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
- Schedule: Hospital is open Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm, Saturday 1/2 days. Sunday closed and major holidays. Some on-call hours to support emergencies.
- Location: 9572 W US-160, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147

Elk Park Animal Hospital is a long-standing mixed animal hospital with deep ties to the community, located in beautiful Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Utilizing both Western and Eastern modalities, Dr. Thompson and his team provide care for dogs, cats, horses, cattle, llamas, alpacas, rabbits, pet birds, and chickens. With a deeply loyal clientele, this hospital is always busy and utilizes all associates to the highest level of their skills.

Who You Are:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Colorado, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
- 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
- Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
- Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
- Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
- Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
- And all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
