Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Primary responsibilities involve implementing, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing clinical applications by bridging the gap between clinical workflows and technology, ensuring systems are efficient, compliant, and aligned with patient care objectives. Critical to the role will be understanding of workflows to ensure effective and efficient use of systems, continuous improvement, and module integrations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Create, validate, support, maintain, and optimize clinical applications to ensure reliability, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Analyze and document clinical workflows; recommend and implement system changes to improve efficiency and patient safety.
- Configure, test, and deploy new functionality, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Serve as primary liaison between clinical staff, IT teams, and vendors to gather requirements, resolve issues, and communicate changes.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver training materials and end-user support resources.
- Ensure systems meet regulatory and accreditation requirements, including HIPAA and CMS standards.
- Perform system testing, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate resolution efforts.
- Participate in project planning, implementation, and post-go-live support for clinical systems.
- Utilize available tools, including SQL, to automate processes and develop reports that support clinical and operational needs.
- Manage and support HL7 interfaces, ensuring reliable, secure, and accurate data exchange between clinical systems.
- Assist with server management as necessary.
- Document, track, and follow up on all reported problems and enhancement requests.
- Maintain a general knowledge of computer operations and other applications.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience (including proficiency in SQL), is a plus. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Licensure:
- RN preferred.
- Association* accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heart Saver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
Skills:
- Must possess strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve system issues.
- Demonstrates technical aptitude. Is familiar with and willing to learn software applications.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to document workflow and process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of HL7 interfaces for data management and system integration.
- Must be detail oriented.
Work Experience:
- 3-5 years experience in healthcare or information technology
