The Boston Children’s Pediatric Physicians’ Organization, a primary care independent practice association clinically integrated with Boston Children's Hospital, seeks a visionary Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of pediatric primary care, leveraging cutting-edge IT strategies and innovations to increase the ease and value of the user experience and ensure all patients receive the highest quality care.
About Us:
We are a unique and vital part of pediatric healthcare in Massachusetts, with more than 750 highly skilled physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and behavioral health providers. We care for one-third of children in the state, in over 100 locations, using a shared Epic electronic health record (EHR) system to conduct 1.4M annual visits.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the CMO and in collaboration with the CIO, the CMIO will transform pediatric primary health care delivery using data-driven innovative advancements in AI, EHR optimization, and clinician training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize clinical IT systems to improve local care quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate on pediatric-specific informatics initiatives locally and nationally.
- Develop and implement a forward-thinking medical AI strategy.
- Spearhead the Epic Physician Builder and training programs.
- Mentor Boston Children's Hospital informatics fellows during ambulatory rotations.
Academic and Medical Staff Appointments:
The candidate will have a medical staff appointment at Boston Children’s Hospital. The candidate may also be eligible for a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School commensurate with experience and with the requirement of ongoing teaching.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Eligible to practice pediatrics in Massachusetts.
- Board eligible in Clinical Informatics and certified in General Pediatrics.
- MD or DO with a completed fellowship in clinical informatics.
- Completion of ACGME accredited fellowship in clinical informatics, with a preference for prior experience as a director of clinical informatics or CMIO in a multi-site organization.
