- Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing, Lead Clinical Faculty

Newberry College invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing to serve as Lead Clinical Faculty in the Department of Nursing. This full-time, 12-month faculty role provides academic and administrative leadership for the College’s nursing clinical education programs. The successful candidate will oversee clinical coordination, ensure high-quality clinical learning experiences, support faculty development, and strengthen partnerships with health care facilities throughout the region.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide leadership and coordination for all clinical components of the nursing curriculum, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and accreditation standards.
- Recruit, orient, and mentor clinical instructors to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction and evaluation.
- Collaborate with health care partners to secure clinical placements and maintain strong relationships with clinical sites.
- Oversee student placement, compliance tracking, and evaluation processes related to clinical experiences.
- Teach 6-9 credit hours per semester (2-3 classes) in both classroom and clinical settings, modeling evidence-based practice and excellence in patient care.
- Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve on departmental and college committees as assigned and contribute to accreditation and assessment activities.
- Create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contribute to strategic plan of clinical operations for nursing programs across the department of nursing.
- Support the mission of Newberry College and the Nursing Department to prepare compassionate, competent, and ethical nurse leaders.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD) from an accredited institution. Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina or multi-state compact. Minimum of three years of experience in clinical nursing education and supervision. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills in coordinating clinical learning environments. Experience facilitating and mentoring nurse leaders. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CCNE accreditation or similar accreditation processes. Public speaking, publication, and dissemination of research within nursing. Proven record of innovation in nursing education and clinical pedagogy. Experience with third party contract negotiations for clinical practicum sites. Experience fostering partnerships with diverse health care organizations. Certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE).
