Description
This gross anatomy faculty position is located at the Douglas R. Kristensen Rural Health Education Complex (RHEC) on the University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK) campus in Kearney, Nebraska. The gross anatomy laboratory is state-of-the-art, and the RHEC has extensive clinical simulation facilities.
This role works collaboratively with the College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP) and the College of Medicine (COM) faculty on both the Kearney and Omaha campuses. In collaboration with other faculty, this role ensures that the gross anatomy laboratory is a functional, safe, and properly equipped learning environment that meets all accreditation standards.
Teaching responsibilities include instruction in anatomy courses taught across the programs in the CAHP. This role requires a willingness and comfort with teaching anatomy at different depths and in innovative ways to serve the needs of the various professional programs in the CAHP.
Classes are held in person for students at the RHEC. Classes are held via synchronous, fully interactive A/V technology for students at the UNMC Omaha Campus.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD with at least three years of cadaveric anatomy teaching experience. Thorough knowledge of gross anatomy, physiology, basic neuroanatomy, basic embryology, and cross-sectional anatomy experience is required.
Supplemental Qualification:
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching allied health students.
As Nebraska’s only public academic health science center, the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is renowned for its leadership in healthcare education, research, and innovation. Phase II will add a second academic building, which will provide classrooms, offices, a wet lab, an additional gross lab, and robust simulation spaces to support the expansion of the Colleges of Medicine, Public Health, and Pharmacy to the campus. The new building is scheduled to open in January 2026.

The College of Allied Health Professions is known across the University of Nebraska system for its culture of innovation, collaboration, and respect.
